How will the i5-450M perform Gaming?

I didn't look at the weights before, but that G53 is really heavy. Here's a review of the GX640 which shows that it can compete pretty well (is only barely slower) than laptops with an i7 720QM and a 5870: http://www.anandtech.com/show/3766/msi-gx640-speedy-dx11-laptop

How will the i5-450M perform Gaming?

Personally, I would go with the MSI GX640 specifically because it has a higher resolution. (I'm a major fan of high res screens), but in terms of overall performance, I would say that the ASUS G53 is the most rounded. The GTX 460m is almost as good as the 5870 and the i7 740QM is better in both...

How will the i5-450M perform Gaming?

Wait a couple weeks before Sandy Bridge laptops start showing up. Their CPU performance will be better and they're more power efficient too. The i7-2630QM or i7-2635QM is the one you'll likely find in most higher end laptops once they get updated.

    What wrong with my computer?

Try uninstalling SetFSB. Also thats the most minor of minor overclocks possible. Thats only 0.04 GHz (40 MHz). Not even benchmarks would likely show that difference. I suggest you learn to bios overclock since you can likely get 3.4+ GHz out of that at stock voltage.

Core i7 870 sitting at 3.4GHz? Not complaining, though!

Perhaps a bios flash because there seems to be a faulty sensor. I doubt you would even be able to boot at ~3.6 GHz with 0.904V like it says you have according to CPU-Z. Or you just have an utterly amazing CPU.

It's called turbo. Edit: Oops just read what you said and you do know about that... I now would have to agree with what alyoshka is saying.

    The GeForce GTX 580: 772MHz, 512 CUDA, 1.5GB

Going by the google cached page, Nvidia was probably going to get mad at them due to NDA breach for this: "Apart from the GeForce GTX 580, GPU-Z 0.4.8 supports GeForce GT 420 and GT 440 (which are currently OEM-only products)." Or the fact they already have a review up for a thing under NDA lol.

    Programs used in university engineering

I am a current undergrad in a Civil Engineering program, and the most demanding program, (well really the only program) is VMware to run Linux for the g++ compiler that the university wants us to use, but that's just for convenience because I could just dual boot if I had a weak computer. It all...

    ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD550v 64-Bit 1GB DDR3

Pretty weak. I'd suggest at least a Radeon 5650 or GT 435M for gaming.

Windows XP Mode VT Processor Compatibility

Firstly, if you have a license of XP, I suggest that you use Virtual Box or VMware Player and install XP in that. They have better performance than XP Mode. The setup is also likely just as easy. If you do choose to use XP Mode, you can use it with any processor. Microsoft updated XP Mode to...

Super Maximum and extreme compression software tools

Firstly, that torrent is likely a fake. There is no compression algorithm that can compress 3.9 GB of unique data down to 9 MB. I really doubt that windows iso you downloaded is legitimate.
