Question Balance 'bleed' into other speaker

Hi Ralston, thanks for replying. Well, like I say - it's within windows, rather than it being a cabling issue. However, here are all the different ways I've tried outputting, in case I'm assuming poorly. Headphones in the front of the case - audio bleeds Line out from the Motherboard soundcard...

Question Speaker causes buzzing sound when connected to PC

Very late answering this - so you've most likely solved the issue - but do a search for Ground Loop Isolator. If that's the sound you're hearing, spend £8 on one on Amazon, and see if that fixes it.

Question Balance 'bleed' into other speaker

I'm going mad trying to sort this out. I have a MONO audio track, playing out of the left channel only in Resolve (or any other program) - but something in Windows is bleeding the audio into the right channel. You can see in this YouTube clip Audio Test. The right meter is the Resolve timeline...

    [SOLVED] 900mbps glitches - 100mbps plays fine

Well, just to close this off - that seems to have done the trick. I guess I could ask why - but I'm just happy that it works. Setting Speed and Duplex to 100mbps rather than 1gpbs has made the direct (rather than TP-link) connection work just fine. I guess either 1) The hub panics with a 1gig...

    [SOLVED] 900mbps glitches - 100mbps plays fine

Ah! I hadn’t thought of that. I’ll try capping it at 100 - if that works, then it’ll prove that it’s not the cable, and maybe it’s just scaring the router into throttling it. If that does work - then I can just do this when remoting into work. And then switch back to 1gb when not.

    [SOLVED] 900mbps glitches - 100mbps plays fine

Hi all, Looking for some guru knowledge. I've got a 1gbps FTTP connection. Which runs at the claimed speed. But I have an issue with editing TV footage remotely (I'm connecting to an edit suite 20 miles away via HP Remote Graphic Software). If I cable directly into the Smart Hub 2 - when the...

    [SOLVED] 1gbps Powerline = 120mbps. Direct link gets 1gb - anything I can do?

Thanks. I've ordered a 20m Cat 5e and some white tape. Hopefully that's enough to make it less ugly. Thanks for all your help. John

    [SOLVED] 1gbps Powerline = 120mbps. Direct link gets 1gb - anything I can do?

I was put off that option due to the up and down nature of the Wifi stability. I need a steady connection speed (I'm remoting into an edit suite, and playing video / audio images to edit a TV programme from home). I might try it though. I've still got the old BT5 hub lying around which at...

    [SOLVED] 1gbps Powerline = 120mbps. Direct link gets 1gb - anything I can do?

Thanks Bill. I figured as much. I'll just stick with the Cat 5e out my window and paint it white to match the house. Hopefully it won't look too ugly. In reality, I could work at 100mbps most of the time - but what's the point in paying for 1000 if I'm only getting 100! Appreciate your...

    [SOLVED] 1gbps Powerline = 120mbps. Direct link gets 1gb - anything I can do?

My home station is about 20 meters away from the network hub which is getting fibre at around 1gig speed. If I use powerline connectors (both 1gig) and Cat 5e / 6 or even 7 cables - it only gives me 120mbps. But, if I run a long Cat5e out of the window, and in the other - I get 1gig...

Laggy webcam - is the GPU to blame?

Just to answer my own question, I bought a Radeon 5850 and installed it today (if anyone else has a xw 8200 and is thinking of doing the same, it works well, but you need to get a 2x4 pin to 1x 6pin cable to be able to provide the two power cables into it). Going into the Webcam software, at...

Laggy webcam - is the GPU to blame?

Hi folks. I'm new to this forum, but every time I rephrase my question on Google, it always directs me here - so I figure you're all experts here! I have an HP XW8200 (3.2 Xeon, 4Gb RAM, NVidia 4400/5400 GPU) that used to be my Avid Media Composer edit suite back in 2009. It's been a 'box in...
