Yes that is an idea. CM do actually sell an accessorie kit but they have no idea when they'll have more in stock... it's frustrating i'll tell you that much! But thank you very much for all your help and assistance. (and patience lol)

Yeah I was thinking it would be against policy for me to ask the community. I was merely thinking that anyone who bought the cooler might have those standoffs spare. I've checked ebay but nothing as yet. I will have to hope that CoolerMaster will actually do something about it.

    5930K High Temperatures

Update. After thoroughly running through test after test not seeing anything that could possibly explain my heat issues, one final test struck me. Something I would not normally try, but it seems to have explained it, and is linked to my use of the incorrect standoffs. So may I first thank...

@Bafioo I missed that point. I bought the CPU because I wanted the 40 PCI lanes. I wanted a more future proof PC. And I do render. As I mentioned in one of my first posts, the temps that concern me pop up when i'm using Handbrake. I'm a graphic/web designer so I use software that stresses my PC...

    5930K High Temperatures

Ok. So I planned to take the cooler off and eliminate the possibility that I have not mounted it correctly. This all went well, but the cooler was still not "snug" when it was tightened. Knowing full well that surface connections with thermal properties and surface area etc is very important, I...

Ah yes, I looked at the V8 when I was buying the parts. But I didn't know if it was really any good. The three top air cooling solutions were the Noctura, HyperEvo and the Zalman. (I forget the exact models) But that V8 would match my colour scheme perfectly lol :) Yeah I could buy two SP...

@laviniuc Yes I know that there's a locking knob for the full wide position. It is set fine. Simply isn't as tightly pressed to the CPU as many of the older heatsinks that used to be supplied with processors. @Bafioo In honesty I really don't want to buy a Noctura, because their colours are...

Cleared CMOS and reran the stress test. The temps were the same. 92-95C I don't have time right now to reseat the cooler. Plus I need the Isopropyl to clean it before reseating. But I will try that as a last resort. Then the only answer, I presume, would be to buy a decent cooler, like the...

    5930K High Temperatures

@Bafioo I didn't have an intel stock cooler, I bought the processor without one because I was always going to use an after market version. @CompuTronix This build is only 2 weeks old and I cleared the CMOS when I built it. I can't see how that would effect the readings. And FYI when I checked...

I've checked the system and BIOS and it seems it's idiot proof so automatically registered the RAM as 2133.

OH GOOD GOD! What the hell have I gone and done that for???!!! I can't believe I could be so stupid. I even remember checking what RAM it would support. I've obviously gone and confused what the MoBo can take and what the CPU can handle.... Oh hell what an ijit I am! I can't tell you how...

Intake from the front and side of the case. The heatsink fan is facing front, so pulling air from the air pushed from the front fans. Then pushing towards the 140mm at the back. There are two 140mm fans on the top of the case as exhaust fans also.

Thank you Bafioo, no offence taken, just simply that I know I plugged the fan into the CPUfan header and the fan does run perfectly well. But from all the information I can see the fan does run at MAX 100% when fully loaded. So it is working perfectly well, it's just the heatsink etc. is not...

As for the fan. The "EU version" of the HyperEvo 212 has a max RPM of 1600, which is what CompuTronix meant. So my fan IS running correctly at 100% (1600RPM) at temps of 90C.
