Yea I'm just looking to get on the Crossfire/SLI band wagon and go x99 and also get out of PCIe Gen2, eventhough I know it's not much of a difference...this way it's easer to ease in on 4k in the future when I'm ready...Thanx for the eye opener on the 7970 r9 280x. For the longest time I though...
I have a question about having an upgrade path in mind when new graphics cards come out every other week.
Let's say I buy a X79 or new X99 set up where I have 3 maybe 4 PCI-e x16 lanes and I go-ahead and buy one relatively high-end graphics card, cause that's all I can afford right now. When I...
No..I set up the OC a while ago ran Prime for a few hours and it was fine back then...went almost a year of gaming on it and it was good..then recently I had this problem..I guess I could try it
Gigabyte z68; i7 2600k was at 4.5; 2x Kingston ssd in raid0; Antec 680 power supply...all other hardware was striped for testing
My system freezes at random..the type of freeze is basically no mouse and keyboard function with the desktop at a stand still..no blue screens no messages or...
I have a gigabyte z68x-ud3h-b3 board i7 2600k..if I want to overclock the bclk from 100mhz to say somewhere from 100mhz-105mhz do I increase a voltage somewhere? What voltage do I set or what other settings am I playing with?...QPI/Vtt CPU PLL, system agent voltage etc c6/c6 support etc
I get all of your points and yess cache drives are a plus..but regardless of battery consumption a least have more 7,200 hard drives in ultra and laptops I know it's not a big difference from 54 to 72 but when your paying $1500 for and i7 mobile with only 2 cores and low frequency compared to...
Why do almost all, even high end laptops or ultra books only have 5,400 RPM hardrives and not 7,200 RPM hard drives ..would 7,200 be a faster and better choice for better performance? I just don't get it
I have a Diamond 7970 overclocked at 1225core and 1675mem with 1.255v and board power at +20...used 3d mark demo and have no errors or artifacts. Temps are topping out at 68c... Haven't really dove into games yet...does anyone think this is too much for and overclock?
Yea I remember windows 7 would have a reduced functionality mode if you don't activate it..don't know the specifics..maybe it doesn't run direct x properly...but again you said you lowered you clock what about your voltage cos voltage has a lot to do with temp?
You said you have all the updated graphics updates..I can assume you have all the windows 8 updates? And what is your voltage for the card being your hitting 85c with an underclock?
