I've been running it underclocked to 2400MHz for a while now. Could it be that before I underclocked the speed, it had done damage to the system in some way?

As i said, the green chip looks suspicious to me.

I saw an ok deal on ebay for Kingston HyperX Fury 8gb kit. So it looks kinda suspicious because in the pictures the writing looks wierd, and the ram itself isn't like the normal color. What i mean is that the ram itself without the blue plate on it, is green not black like other HyperX rams.
