Question Computer won't turn on, PSU seems OK

Update. Received the PURE POWER 11 (400W), but still no POST. Breadboarded the mobo and removed the CMOS battery - and it booted just fine. So looks like some ASRock boards have similar issues to those affected MSI ones - dead battery causes failure to boot. No battery or an OK one solves it...

Question Computer won't turn on, PSU seems OK

And that's what I come here for. Excellent point I didn't even realize to consider. Even with reputable brands like the one I linked? Note it's not PSU price that wants me to select a lower-wattage unit, but their efficiency at ~50-60W mode that it'll be chugging along most of the time. Guess...

Question Computer won't turn on, PSU seems OK

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/r4krwg The box is mostly a 24/7 server running linux, when it's pulling 50-60W from the wall. Occasionally it's used also for gaming on windows (dual boot). Then the SSD nor HDDs are not mounted. Soon however another box will be built for gaming, and this will...

Question Computer won't turn on, PSU seems OK

Cool, cheers. Already have PURE POWER 11 (400W) in a basket ready to go. Might even go as low as 300W, as I took unreasonable advice when building the box, hence the 550W G2. Never saw even 200W pulled from the wall. Had to make sure it's reasonable to get the replacement now. Will come back...

Question Computer won't turn on, PSU seems OK

Is it still possibly failing, even when all the rails appear to be producing OK voltage?

Question Computer won't turn on, PSU seems OK

Over the past few months my system with an old EVGA G2 550 PSU has been experiencing random reboots. After the ECO mode was switched off the problems appeared to be solved. Now however the computer no longer turns on - no reaction whatsoever when case pwr btn is pressed. USB ports however do...

mini-ITX build - PSU & GPU not fitting together

For the unlucky other, that might be facing exactly the same issue - getting smaller form factor PSU of GPU is deffo the way to go. I ended up removing the PSU mount bracket from the case, which enabled to push (emphasis on the push part) everything into the case. Not too worried about the PSU...

Risk of running asrock's "Mac Address Tool"?

My setup powered by ASRock's mITX Z170 board had the infamous mac address message being shown during post Quick googling and contacting support both confirmed, that ASRocks mac address tool had to be used to write the MAC address. Now, my concern is about the risk it carries. How likely it is...

    ASRock Z170 m-ITX - no bluetooth

Finished a box built with said motherboard, and everything looks fine, but the bluetooth module (built-in) doesn't appear to be working. By that I mean there's no hint in the OS about the system having bluetooth in the first place. Note that wifi, which is supposed to be provided by the same...

Is it OK to apply thermal paste and not turn on the system for X days?

Applied mx-4 last weekend, but because of some fitting issues, haven't yet completed the build. The system has yet to be powered on. The paste won't get, I don't know, bad or anything? Also, while applying (line method), the line went slightly off-center. It's not end of the world, is it?

mini-ITX build - PSU & GPU not fitting together

Thanks for the suggestions. Wasn't aware of the mITX GPUs, but that ship has sailed. Wouldn't want to change the graphics. Same goes for the case (simply a personal preference to get the smallest case). Haven't tested it out yet, but how bad would it be if the PSU was flipped 180 degrees as...

So you all advise (strongly) against the hackyMcHackHack?

mini-ITX build - PSU & GPU not fitting together

Hit a massive noob blocker with my first build - PSU and GPU don't fit into my case. Assumed all ATX PSUs are the same size; apparently not. Looks like the GPU would physically fit in, being flush with the PSU, but since all the power cables are coming out from that side, it's a no-go. (top...
