I chose the option to save the old installation in a back-up folder. Should I try a complete wipe? I wasn't sure it'd make much difference. It took around 18 hours for it to complete which seemed very extreme. When I originally installed it, it took about 30-60mins....

Hey, I'm running an FX-6100 with an R9 280x and all the games I've played have no issues being cranked up to high/ultra settings. Battlefield 4/Supreme Commander/EVE Online/Civ 5 Ok, not the best line-up of games to test it but it seems to run pretty well.

Updated the BIOS but still no joy in getting the card to work.

Yeah I tried to use the converters to ensure that the issue wasn't power. I cannot get to the BIOS, no. I will try updating the BIOS and I'll post an update and let you know how I get on.
