Just an update-I tried to play games that were installed on the network drive on my desktop, and basically what happened is it fell into an install loop-I believe the .exe or steam is trying to install the software on the network machine instead of my desktop. I'm sure there's a way around this...

Just an update-I gave up and just reinstalled windows 8, imaged the drive, and took what I needed off the old drive. Reinstalled everything else. The Paragon program appears to have only created one partition. At least thats all that I could find with diskpart. I'm not entirely sure WHY it...

I used Paragon OS to SSD migration software/tool to clone an existing 1TB windows 8.1 HDD from a lenovo laptop to a 240 GB kingston SSD. Everything copied fine but I'm having a bear of a time getting the new SSD to boot. I've managed to get to a command prompt via a bootable USB windows 8.1...

update-Memory passed memtest on BOTH motherboards. It would indeed appear Asus's auto-detection settings were bad. However, reinstalling the memory modules and resetting bios this time the modules were detected correctly and working fine. It would appear that the original problem with the MSI...

Update-both modules have passed first passed of memtest 86+ 4.3.7. Strongly suspecting the Asus motherboard wasn't auto-detecting settings/timings as Bgunner said. I am going to run one more pass of memtest and then try the asus motherboard again and manually set the timings.
