Well running them both at x8 is exactly what I'm wanting to do. I'm just concerned because it says with 28 lanes it'll do x16/x8 on the cards, and I'm wondering if there's a way to just tell it to do x8 on both cards.

Sounds good. Hopefully two will be enough. One last question though, I've heard that AMD gpu's have really bad screen tearing issues. Is that true or is that just fanboy talk?

Wow, thanks. I've been completely misled by some people. I didn't even check because I assumed they were right. You just saved me a lot of trouble! In that case, any recommendations for an AMD setup? I've never used AMD for GPU's.
