News UserBenchmark bashes AMD GPUs and claims they lack real-world performance

You are the one who made assertions. You have to back them. If you refuse to, you're admitting you have nothing to back them. And, really, the Pee Wee Herman defense isn't really a defense. Or a clever "gotcha".

News AMD quietly announces Radeon RX 9060 alongside new Adrenalin driver — new entry-level GPU is for 'select system integrators only

I've definitely convinced myself I need to get my hands on one of these. Never picked up one of those low profile RX 6500 non-XT OEM cards, but I did snag an RX 5300. Also, got one of those RX 5600 OEM models that popped up almost 2 years ago.

The answer to your question is yes. Among the regulars here, we're all aware of a few.

News UserBenchmark bashes AMD GPUs and claims they lack real-world performance

Yes. Unless you have evidence otherwise. You've made assertions, but you haven't provided any evidence of such.

Disinformation - as Blackwell's recent hiccups, both on the software side and hardware side have reminded us. And, I don't think you have inside information on what Nvidia is allegedly holding back on.

News FCC proposal aims to nix long-term gigabit internet speed goals, pricing analysis

This is belief, not fact. That said, the very same people trying to forbid municipal internet (which was just an example) are also trying to block cooperatives, small players, etc.

I'd missed that! But whatever it was I'd run across and only imperfectly remember was at least a dozen or more years earlier.

News FCC proposal aims to nix long-term gigabit internet speed goals, pricing analysis

Before you accuse anyone of bring intellectually dishonest, I specifically pointed out the action on the parts of states of specifically forbidding things like municipal Internet. Bungled/difficult restrictions can be a problem anywhere. That just needs to be fixed, rather than throwing the...

News AMD CEO says U.S.-made TSMC chips are more expensive, but worth it — costs 'more than 5% but less than 20%' higher than Taiwan-sourced alternative

Another thing to consider - in the event of a supply-chain disruption, that higher price becomes a lower price relative to the prices that emerge via scarcity. Having multiple sources is a smart bet.

News FCC proposal aims to nix long-term gigabit internet speed goals, pricing analysis

The excuse is used on a federal level as well (ie: single-payer health care), but, even specifically in this case, that does not apply. The states that "can't" are actively outlawing any town/district's ability to even try, in order to prevent the established companies from having to face...

I could've sworn something similar was done, that I'd read about in a Maximum PC article? Or maybe it was online, but around that same time period, I wanna say late 90s or early 2000s. User in question had a few PCs, and basically set up in their basement or another room something that looked...

News Palmer Luckey considering entering laptop market with fully US-made model, wants to know if you'd spend 20% more for an American-made PC

The bitter cynic in me says it can be done, and the guy's probably thinking prison labor.

News FCC proposal aims to nix long-term gigabit internet speed goals, pricing analysis

Yeah, but "we're too big to be able to do that like smaller countries than," whether by area or by population, has been the tired, go-to empty excuse used by those trying to benefit corporate profits at the expense of the good of the nation. It's not that we can't. It's that there's an...
