I have an Intel 55SB mobo and I can't get my R9 270X to work on it! I don't know why. To make it even stranger, the BIOS does show up with the new card in, but when I go to hit a button for boot menu, it just beeps. Any ideas on what to do?

Its very easy in my opinion, as long as you did the research you said you did, there won't be any issues. Running power supply cables to components is really simple, its almost the "if it fits" type of deal.
I'm fairly certain it will, but if worse comes to worse, and you really want the preformance benefits, you can place the fans on the outside of the case and leave the radiator on the inside. It wont look great, but you'll be able to overclock really well.
