Well, after it stopped turning on, today it once again turned on after beeps ( after removing and putting back cmos ). I did what you wrote, and there was no checksum error anymore, it booted up normally and I was able to use it for around 30 mins.
Still, the fact that it does not boot...
Welp, turned it on a few days ago to poke around the bios, and the PC didn't start. Pulling out the PSU, removing bios battery, now I get the beeping music again.
Since its the second PSU, It feels like its the mobo?
Doesnt explain how I was able to log into the windows and sit in it before...
Update:
I've finally found a ps2 keyboard, I also fixed the floppy error by poking around with the drive's power cables, cant check if its working at least error is not there.
The PC BOOTS, I even managed to get into the OS, which is Windows XP ( surpsisingly ). Yeah, it lags and is very slow...
Hey,
I wrote up there that I have tried a usb-ps2 adapter and it didnt work. Used 2 keyboards, the backlights were on, but still undetected. Thanks for the extra info though, Im still working on finding a ps2 keyboard which is apparently not easy ( no local sellers, new or used ). The startup...
Well...
1) I have tried another battery from a different PC, the CMOS checksum error is still there, so unless this one is dead as well ( possible ), there is something with the bios.
2) The usb connection for the keyboard does not work. I have connected my usb keyboard to the usb jacks on the...
Yeah, im working on finding a ps2 keyboard. Will get the battery tomorrow. I still do not think these 2 are related to the post problems and the beeps. Atm it sometimes goes into siren post, or it sirens for 2 secs and passes.
Hello,
got my hands on an old desktop pc with a celeron 400MHz and chaintech 6btm mobo.
When I first powered it, all fans go online ( cpu and psu ), but the PC would make the POST beeps, a continuous siren ( long-short-repeat ). I've checked the capacitors, and they seem to be fine. I removed...
Hi.
I sent my card to warranty, and they said it was faulty. I've decided not to trust amd, and so had it replaced with a 3070. No issues for 4 months so far.
Thanks, I get what you mean now. I will consider it, but given the fact that the issue is happening with two different cards , and the fact that I did not OC/mine anything, I doubt its the gpu bios that is causing this.
Also, I seem to lo longer able to open the bios. During startup I no longer see the brief msi logo and pres del to enter bios. If i keep pressing del during startup, pc screen just stays black.
I will look into it, but change the timings of what exactly? If something was changed with the gpu shouldnt a driver reinstall fix this? If not, then why would it persist on the second gpu as well?
Edit: It seems MPT would not support the 6700 xt?
The issue is too random to test in safe mode. It can occur 2 times a day, or once per 6 days. Also, what makes you sure its 100% software? I mean I checked the ssd several times, connections as well, seems to be in order. The pc also freezes for the duration completely ( it does seemingly...
So, today I gave the 6700 for warranty repair. And just when I came home and started my pc ( which has the gtx 1050 atm in it ), 20 secs later I get the BS once again. Got the log from the dmp here:
So, if it happens with the 1050 as well ( different error, but its nvidia so no amd service )...
It did replace some corrupt ones it said, did not specify which ones.
Don't have another psu to test. Right now testing the 1050, I assume that at least if the problem is with mobo or SSD it will show up again. If there will be no issues with the 1050 in 2 weeks time, then its either psu or...
