Question PC not powering up after mobo+CPU upgrade

I can't thank you all enough. After booting once out of my system and resetting the bios memory, I connected each part one by one until I had it sitting on my desk. I almost had a heart attack and I've got an overwhelming relief. There is nothing worse than spending so much on expensive hardware...

Question PC not powering up after mobo+CPU upgrade

Thank you. There's one thing bugging me about it. All of my screws also have protection washers, like small red I guess made of some kind of hard paper. But I'm short of one of these washers. What if I skip one standoff?

Question PC not powering up after mobo+CPU upgrade

I tried shorting the connections with a screw driver and didn't work. I just took the mobo out of the case disconnected everything and shorted again with a screw driver and it turned on. I guess something was shorting it in the case. What could be the most common thing that's shorting the mobo?

Question PC not powering up after mobo+CPU upgrade

Most of these suggest that the system does power on but doesn't post. Mine doesn't even have the PSU fans spinning. But I can see that the Ethernet lights up if connected.

Question PC not powering up after mobo+CPU upgrade

I bought both items new, two days old. I did just reset bios. I have a modular PSU and connected 2 4pin cables to the CPU slot just like on my previous motherboard for an i5 6th gen. I have the CPU fan connected. Tried with one slot ram in the correct slot. It's stuff I've been through in the...

Question PC not powering up after mobo+CPU upgrade

Hello everyone. I just bought an i7 9700k and an MSI z390-a mobo and the system won't turn on. I see the orange light when the Ethernet is connected but it won't power up meaning no fan spin, no speaker sound, no sign of life. Maybe there is something I'm missing I'm just too worried to think...

Question Better alternatives to "gaming" headset

Hello! I recently had issues with an older headset of mine (Razer Kraken USB) and I was thinking of a better, newer headset to buy. After some reviews and researching I found the Corsair HS70 to be really appealing so I bought them, after I told my friend(self taught DJ who never made it) that...

[SOLVED] Better performance, upgrade CPU or GPU?

Hello. So the main story here is that my friend has an Intel i5 6500 and a 1060. One day he said his GPU is getting bottlenecked by the CPU and he can't reach stable 60fps in Battlefield 1 and because of that he's gonna switch to a Ryzen 5 2600X, which means around 300€ including a new...

[Solved] AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition with Liquid Cooler and still at 70celcius

I've found the problem, it seems I was too rushy to install my Seidon so much that I forgot to pull out the protective membrane before driving it onto the CPU. Weird that I hadn't removed even though I always doublecheck things. So I pulled it off, cleaned the CPU surface and reinstalled...

[Solved] AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition with Liquid Cooler and still at 70celcius

Hello, This is my first post here so please ask me to inform you of any other info that you might need. I have my Phenom II X6 1100T for around 3-4 years now. The stock cooler used to always make noise and I knew that before buying it. As long as I can remember, it would always opperate at...
