No, you said that, only in reverse. I said a VPN seemed worth it TO ME, given my experience. YMMV

I'm not sure on what basis that generalization was made, but I've come across snooping by strangers when using public WiFi networks. $5/mo for a VPN service to protect your privacy over WiFi seems worth it to me.

There's no OpenVPN client.
