My house only has DSL ports on the walls. Is my modem/router the only way to connect to the Internet hardwired?

My motherboard (a bantry crb lenovo proprietary) has an esata header, but my case has no esata port for me to connect it to and I want to be able to use it. What can I do? Is there an adapter that takes up an expansion slot that could take advantage of the header?

I am planning on building a pc that is why I would like to know a good card. I have a laptop in the room that the pc will be in and it usually the connection is not very strong. It is a centurylink router I do not know which model.

My router is downstairs and my pc is upstairs and can't get a very strong connection. Is there a wi-fi pci-e card for about $30 that would work well?
