My 1070 is doing just fine got it right before the price jumps at $389. Probably won't be looking to upgrade until the next generation after Volta or maybe even the one after that.

I would say build number one. It's the best one for gaming but I would say get a 7600K CPU so it's unlocked for oc later on you would just need to add in a CPU cooler with it.

Basically your VRam on your GPU is just for the GPU to use it doesn't interact with your actual mobo. It's really just to provide resources for the GPU so it's on a whole separate system and will not cause any problems no matter if you are running ddr 2,3, or 4 it makes no difference to the GPU...
