lol I know this is a late reply. But the issue originated with the Ethernet/WiFi drivers. So to resolve the issue, I simply disabled the Ethernet adapter when not in use and the Laptop works fine :D

Same God forsaken nonsense has been happening to me with my ACER laptop and I too have an atheros WLAN driver as well as a Bluetooth driver. Can somebody please tell me what the hell is up with Windows 8? I even tried resetting the laptop to it's factory settings twice and the problem still...
