    I5-6600k and gtx 1070

    I currently own both a i5 6600k @ 4.4Ghz and a Gtx1070. Works really well, outstanding performance across the board playing at 1080p 144hz

    voltage spikes with adaptive mode

I am using balanced power plan as mentioned on my original post. I am using cpu-z and hwmonitor to check the voltages. The cpu clock speed DOES decrease on idle state, the voltage doesnt.

    voltage spikes with adaptive mode

Went back to the bios and set it back to manual voltage, kept speedstep and c-states enabled, windows power plan on balanced. Vcore wont drop when idle. Doesnt work for me. :(

    voltage spikes with adaptive mode

Which mobo do you have? My CPU voltage wont drop if I have manual mode and speedtest enabled. It downclocks when idle, but it doesnt drop the voltage, it stays static (watching it with cpu-z and hwmonitor)

    voltage spikes with adaptive mode

Won't 24/7 manual voltage affect the longevity of the CPU? I've read a ton of stuff on forums, but can never find a definitive answer. Assuming I'd run manual 24/7, is it ok to leave SpeedStep and C-States enabled to allow the CPU to downclock when idle? thanks

    voltage spikes with adaptive mode

Hello people, I've spent the last few days oc'ing and testing my new i5 6600k and so far it went pretty smoothly during manual voltage tests. my pc: i5 6600k asus z170 pro gaming nzxt kraken x61 g.skill 2x8gb ddr4 2666mhz seasonic s12g 550w I've been stable at both 4.5ghz / 1.230v and 4.4ghz...

    LLC and Adaptive Mode

Bumped it to 1.230 just to be safe. It's super stable after running all sort of benchmarks and playing stuff like bf4. Feels pretty solid. I also made the mistake of trying to open my browser with a stress test running... didnt go well.:D Im fiddling with the adaptive voltage mode right now...

    LLC and Adaptive Mode

Ran a 2nd Realbench just to be sure and it actually froze the pc 1 hour in:( Guess I was being a little too optimistic with 1.215v... 1.230 will probably work 100%, still I cant complain being near stable at such low voltages!

    LLC and Adaptive Mode

Hello again! So after doing multiple tests with multiple settings: 4.5ghz 1.215 vcore manual mode LLC 5 (1-7) CPU current capability - 120% CPU power phase control - optimized CPU power duty control - extreme SpeedStep - enabled (windows power saving - balanced) Looks stable and temps are...

    LLC and Adaptive Mode

update: set the clock to 4.5ghz, manual mode 1.215v, LLC at 4 (1 to 7), CPU capacity on auto. Passed Realbench 15min stress test and then I ran 10min of small FFT's on P95 Should I attempt to lower the LLC? Any insight on adaptive mode would be great aswell!
