IBM: PCs are "Going The Way of Typewriters"

PreferLinuxReally? For low-end machines, yes. But for HPC, servers, workstations and enthusiast machines, never – they develop them all by developing any one of them. The servers are going to have to get even better to keep up with the demand of the whole cloud bullshit thing + everything being...

Digital Storm Rig Clocks 4.6 GHz at 0ºC

It's not that overpriced. Assuming everything is as it appeared in the video, I would actually be pretty impressed. MDPC-X sleeving? (or similar) Full coverage blocks + the loop. Maybe not quite $3500 but for the labor, it's not terrible. I'm trying to figure out how its running at 0C...

Intel, Samsung, Toshiba Team For 10nm Chips

HaserathWe've gotten to the point that companies have to start working together to make the transistors smaller. That must mean we're at the point that it is getting close to the end for the transistor to get smaller, but maybe they'll come up with a breakthrough that will keep us going for some...

Seagate Says Future is Hybrid HDD, Not Pure SSD

They are lying. Solid state storage is definitely the future. Even if it might not totally be ready for the prime time, we will definitely not be using mechanical hard drives in 10 years.

Inside Logitech Revue With Google TV, Undressed

I'm pleasantly surprised. A Gigabyte board. Solid caps (or so it appears), ferrite chokes among other things. Looks like a pretty well built machine. This is compared to my cable box which runs at about 9,000C with huge through hole electrolytic junk caps.
