i currently have fx6300 asus m5a97 r2.0 12gb ddr3 1600 gigabyte r9 280x oc 3 chaser mk-1 case my question is should i upgrade my gpu to say a rx 480x or 1070 or should i keep my gpu and upgrade to a i5 6600k and a z170 board? this is for gaming.

I just sent in my r9 280x oc to gigabyte, it popped and starting smoking with a flame. Are they going to be able to replace that exact card model or are they going to send me a different one?

My GPU made a popping noise followed by a flash then smoke. My PC shut off. I pulled the GPU. My computer powered back on. Is it safe to assume this is just the GPU and not the psu? It's a r9 280x oc I have a ocz 650 w bronze rated PSU. I submitted the card for RMA.
