Question Shattered a hard drive platter. Is it dangerous?

There are a few 3.5" that used glass. The 75GXP "Deathstar" was glass, wasn't it? I'm sure there are others.

Question Gunk on vertical inlet port of EK-Quantum Kinetic pump reservoir ?

That doesn't look like "gunk" per se, it looks like simple staining of the "stainless" steel. Some polishing compound or some 0000 super-fine steel wool should polish it up.

Question Buy a new 8-pin PCIe cable or convert my two existing 6 Pin to a single 8 Pin?

I mean, you came here asking questions and for options, and it seems like you already have it figured out and none of the options we suggest are for you. So...good luck, and happy computing!

Question Could I get some help deciding on a purchase?

The motherboard you said you have has 3x PCI Express x1 slots. Absolutely 100% compatible.

Question Buy a new 8-pin PCIe cable or convert my two existing 6 Pin to a single 8 Pin?

Except, that daughter board would seem to indicate it uses standard 24 pin and 8 pin connectors. I think a regular power supply would work so long as it physically fits in the case.

https://www.amazon.com/WAVLINK-Tri-Band-Wireless-Bluetooth5-2-Bluetooth/dp/B0B49HDLHM That one. Kind of curious to hear why you don't think you could use it?

Question Could I get some help deciding on a purchase?

You can buy CAT6 in 1000 foot spools. I know, I have one. They're not that expensive, actually.

Question Could I get some help deciding on a purchase?

The one bill001g posted would be a MUCH better option, especially since speed is obviously a concern.

Question Buy a new 8-pin PCIe cable or convert my two existing 6 Pin to a single 8 Pin?

Get a new power supply. The power supplies put into OEM pcs are "adequate" (barely) for the purpose of their construction. They do not allow much "headroom" for upgrading to components with higher power demand. And the stock power supply very possibly won't be ABLE to run your new card. The best...

Question Could I get some help deciding on a purchase?

Running an ethernet cable is actually a best-case scenario, because you'll get the best speeds and lowest latencies from a cabled connection.

Question What should I be looking for? (CPU)

They just posted a story here on Tom's Hardware stating that Intel is going to be dropping the price of Alder lake (gen 12) cpus by around 20% soon. You might want to wait a few days or so until those price drops manifest into the supply channel. You might find Intel to be the WTG at that...

Question My PSU is an incredibly tight fit in the Corsair iCUE 220T case ?

Man, I totally agree. My last 2 builds prior to the one I'm on now were in full atx cases, and building them was a dream. I only went to a mid-atx this last build because I was no longer running big, clunky mechanical hard drives so I felt I could finally, after all these years, go back to a...
