MSI Geforce GTX 780 Twin Frozr Sparked

Anything with a "C" in front on a PCB always means it's a capacitor. After a bit of googling, it looks like this particular capacitor on your GPU is very commonly blown. If your card is still under warranty, I don't see why you wouldn't just RMA it. RMA is free whereas bringing it to a repair...

I upgraded my graphics card but it seems to be the same.

Did you make sure to uninstall your old graphics drivers and install the new ones? Your CPU could be bottlenecking the GPU I suppose (the a6-3650 is pretty old at this point), but you still should be seeing at least some improvement in performance.

New GTX 1050 vs Used GTX 960. Which one should I buy?

The title pretty much sums it up. Both cards have 2GB VRAM and are roughly the same price ($90). The used card is one that I found on Craigslist, and he claims it's like new (no one ever lies on the internet, right?). Which would you recommend that I go with? EDIT: I should add that the 960...

    Gaming Laptop Suggestions

After further research, I'm thinking I might wait for this to come out: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/gigabyte-aero-14-gaming-laptop,31906.html I'm not planning on buying until the end of the summer, so I'm willing to wait. I'm not sure if at that point I should just wait for pascal though.

    Which laptop should i choose?

IMO go for the Y700. 128GB is enough to act as a nice boot drive and to hold your essential programs, and you can use the hard drive to store your games. You can even use some of the money saved to get a better SSD.

    Gaming Laptop Suggestions

    1. What is your budget? The most I'd be willing to spend is $2250, but I'd be willing to sacrifice GPU performance if it means I'm saving money. 2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? 15" would be ideal. I really want a thin laptop (1" thick or less). 3. What screen...

Trouble installing OpenELEC on old netbook

Turns out that OpenELEC provides two ways of installing via USB. The first one requires using their custom executable to mount the USB installation, and the second one involves manually mounting a disk image file. The second method worked perfectly :)

Trouble installing OpenELEC on old netbook

I am attempting to install OpenELEC on an old Aspire One netbook that's been collecting dust in my basement. I downloaded the 32-bit release of OpenELEC, and ran the create_installstick.exe program onto a USB. I verified this USB works by using it on my desktop PC and selecting it from the...
