Unfortunately that was the second thing I tried. I use Ccleaner all the time.

Yes I tried it in incognito mode and the old searches still appeared.

But that won't remove old searches from history though. Just prevent new ones? How do I find out what extensions I have that could be causing this if that's what this is?

All that did was clear Google search and sign me out of everything but Google. Wiki search remains the same.

That hasn't fixed it either. Clicking the Wikipedia search bar still brings up a list of old searches.

I am logged into my Google Chrome account if that's what you mean? Other than that no.

Hi, thank you for your quick reply. Unfortunately it is not autocomplete that is the issue. Just clicking the search bar brings up past searches, rather than typing. Thank you anyway.
