Not sure what the CPU voltage actually is

I just tried redoing the settings, and got the same reading from Speedfan. The programs showing me 4.7 were CPU-Z, Task Manager, and Aida64. As a side note, the vcore thing in the screenshot is still 0.96, which is insanely low if the reading is true. Also, when my system was in idle the...

Not sure what the CPU voltage actually is

I was trying to overclock my i7-4790k, so I set the core multiplier to 47, the cache multiplier to 40, the Vcore to 1.3 Override, and the cache to 1.2 override. When I turned on Windows and opened programs, CPU-Z said that the voltage was 0.952v. AIDA64 told me the same thing, and when I did...

What are the Hardware Requirements for Triple 1080p?

I have basically the same question, except I'm upgrading from a GTX 760 and going to add a third monitor. Would a second 2gb 760 do the job for nvidia surround with 3 1080p monitors? I don't think so, but just in case... If I do need a new card, what would be the right choice? I can get 60-80...

Stopping a Windows Laptop from Overheating

I built a decent gaming desktop, but sometimes I am in a place where the ping to my home server is so bad that it is impossible to stream w/ Steam in home streaming over OpenVPN. The processor is a U-series, unlike my Desktop's K, so the XTU doesn't work. There are a few options like power...

Stopping a Windows Laptop from Overheating

I purchased a Windows laptop a while back, http://www.microcenter.com/product/444610/Aspire_R3-471T-53LA_Touch_14_Laptop_Computer_-_Silver and it has been overheating. Whenever I play games on it (Planetside 2, TF2, Minecraft) it begins to overheat, getting to 90+ degrees Celsius, topping off...

    Um... 100 degrees celsius???

Is this normal? I have a laptop with an i5-5200U 5th gen processor, no overclock, no mods, just stock, and I decided to look at realtemp while playing Minecraft. Look at the max temp it said it found. 101 degrees Celsius? I don't think that it should be that high, but it was like that for...

Intel Integrated HD 4400 in Laptop vs Intel Integrated HD 4400 in Desktop

Ok thanks! I will spend the extra $100 for a 25% increase in gaming performance. As a side note, how does the integrated 4400 compare to whatever's in my Celeron N2840? I looked for a bit, but couldn't get a specific graphics model for it (everywhere I look just says "integrated HD grapgics"

Intel Integrated HD 4400 in Laptop vs Intel Integrated HD 4400 in Desktop

But my dilemma is choosing between an i5-4210U and an i5-5200U. I want to know just how much better the integrated graphics on the 5200U are than those on the 4210.

    will a 760 TI sli with a normal 760 ??

From what I've heard they will SLI, but the 760 ti will be throttled to the speed of the 760. You will not be getting you money's worth out of the ti, as it will only perform at the level of the 760.

Intel Integrated HD 4400 in Laptop vs Intel Integrated HD 4400 in Desktop

I'm looking into buying a laptop, mainly to use for school, but I also want to play Minecraft and stream Planetside from my desktop using Steam Streaming. I found that Minecraft does not play nearly as well as Planetside with steam streaming, so I want to be able to run it natively on the...

Good all-around laptop for under $500

I actually went with a refurbished version of this laptop and upgraded the RAM: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-E5-571P-59QA-15-6-Inch-Touchscreen/dp/B00PGELG4O/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1428197713&sr=1-2&keywords=intel+i5+laptop

    i3 or i5?

If there's no problem with a budget, then go for an i5. It will be able to keep up with modern software for longer before you have to swap it out for something better.

Good all-around laptop for under $500

    1. What is your budget? Hopefully under $500, as I need to have it by the start of the next school year. 2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? Any size. My current 11.6 inch Samsung chromebook 2 is just fine in terms of screen. 3. What screen resolution do you want...

Is a 120 hz display worth it???

Thanks! The main game that I play is minecraft, but I am starting to get bored and am now playing other FPS games, so that is good to know. It's kind of sad, though, that my rig is already outdated... I just got the graphics card over christmas :( Atleast the CPU will be good for a while...

Is a 120 hz display worth it???

I am almost finished with my gaming rig, which has a gtx 760 as a graphics card. I currently have some lousy 19" 5 year old LCD and was looking to get a second monitor. I hear varying things about 120hz monitors, but I know that if I don't get above 120 FPS constantly, then the extra $100+...
