    That isn't a production plant. They are a custom shop that does prototypes for lots of big developers. Their runs number in the dozens - not hundreds of thousands. Using shops like them for a laptop would add a couple grand to the price of each item.

    Seriously? You think that there are any factories in the US that can make modern 7 and 8 layer boards? Every piece that is attached is also made in Asia too.

    About the only component they can source from the US might be an Intel CPU, but not a good one. Good CPUs and the GPU will come from Taiwan. The board will come from Taiwan or China. The RAM and screen will come from Taiwan, China, or South Korea. I guess the case could be made in the US. Is...

    I had never thought of that. I could definitely see the value-add there. 4TB M.2 drives have a premium price and 8TB are almost double.

    Russia doesn't prosecute ransomware syndicates. That is a money maker that brings in dollars to stimulate their economy. This person obviously got sideways with somebody important.

    5080 is a 4K card. The bottlenecks move up to 1440 with that much power. You will cripple a 5080 by about 15% pairing it with a non-X3D CPU.

    Two sides. Might have some thermal issues with Gen 5, but Gens 3 and 4 can do it.

    You are confused. 3D NAND isn't stacking in the way that you are thinking. They are deposition layers and they are only on one piece of silicon. This brief article explains the two methods.
