Question 3900X getting stuck at 500 Mhz

As stated, according to Asus, downgrade isn't an option... which makes me reluctant to try, as a failure might void my warranty, because I didn't follow the guideline :confused_old: I have installed and enabled the Ryzen High Performance Power Profile, so I'll monitor for a few days... and see...

Question 3900X getting stuck at 500 Mhz

I don't see a download for a power profile... I just redirects me to chipset drivers? Or is that what you mean? Never mind, forgot to read release notes... the previous 1404 (I'm running 1405) did indeed include that 1.0.0.4B patch, yes Issues started shortly after, I believe, yes...

Question 3900X getting stuck at 500 Mhz

I'm currently gaming, so I got a few stats from actual use: CPU overall (as reported by Ryzen master): ~69,34 C Motherboard chipset: Holding steady at 60 C (HWinfo) 2 highest temps reported (assuming VRM, they're not labeled): 74 & 79 C (HWinfo, reading mobo stats), which is a little higher...

Question 3900X getting stuck at 500 Mhz

At startup? With considerable heatsinks (I was told the CPU heatsink was overkill considering the limited OC headroom for Ryzen 3000) on all those components and good airflow across everything? I don't want to sound condescending, but I should hope that would be the last concern I could ever...

Question 3900X getting stuck at 500 Mhz

Hello all, My precious 3900X has been getting stuck at 500 Mhz, requiring a restart to get to 'normal' 4.2 Ghz boost clocks. I've been pouring over my BIOS, even going as far as to physically take out the CMOS battery, but I can't seem to identify nor fix the issue... (I have updated my BIOS...

[SOLVED] NT-H1 good to use as replacement thermal paste on GPU?

I understand that, but I'm using what I've got laying around after building the new system ;) Follow-up Question: Is ArtiClean good for removing the old thermal paste? I know it works wonders on an IHS, but is it also safe to use on the exposed die of a GPU?

[SOLVED] NT-H1 good to use as replacement thermal paste on GPU?

Hey everyone! A quick question from me: I'm about to build a new PC for myself... and I'm looking to pass my dear old GTX 980 on to a friend of mine... However, after some 5 years of daily service, I think it'd be best to at least redo the thermal paste on the cooler. Can I use Noctua NT-H1...

What's wrong with G.Skill? I know they're not one of the 'Big Guys' but I can't recall them ever being seen as bad?

Hello all, After much deliberation... I've decided to stick with the 3800X, mostly because of budgetary constraints. The extra ~€ 50 spend on it represents more or less a little bit of money left in the budget, so that's why I'm getting the 3800X instead of the 3700X... Nothing else I bumped...

Alright, I think it's obvious that I might wish to take another look at the exact combo of CPU and RAM, which I'll do (assuming the prices don't get too crazy, doubling the RAM price just to jump to 3600MHz seems woefully excessive to me still). Thank you, everyone that chimed in!

You make a good point; I've picked the 3800X only because for the extra € 50 I'll be paying, I'm hoping this higher binned processor might serve me better when it comes to overclocking..

Just a basic 60hz 2560x1080, I was gonna upgrade, but put it off long enough that I'm now upgrading the PC first 😅 PSU is a little overkill just in case future GPU upgrades require it, that's the whole of it, really. I was aware 3rd gen Ryzen doesn't have much overclocking headroom, I mostly...
