Buy 1060 now or wait for 580?

I would wait a few months for the etherium bubble to burst, then get yourself a 580 for a reasonable price

Silent cooling for i5-4690K in SilentiumPC Gladius M40

suggest you test how good your CPU is by overclocking with the stock cooler. If you can get to 4.2 on 1.1V like me, then your CPU will probably go to 4.5 or more. however, every 100Mhz speed increase requires about 0.05V more Vcore, and 1.3V is the limit. So if you need a lot of Vcore to get...

Intel i5 3570k processor compatible with 2400hrz memory? Other Questions Within!

1.65V RAM is the same as ordinary RAM, only overclocked. It will run at 1.5V, just a bit slower Go into your advanced voltage settings, Set your RAM voltage to 1.55V (my 3570k has been fine at this memory voltage for years), and see how fast your memory it will go before crashing. Try 1866, then...

i7 3770 Worth Upgrading or Needs New Ram?

I have a computer with a 3570k. Windows 10 reports impossibly high CPU speed on mine too. Use CPU-Z if you want to check. However, if your computer is overheating, the CPU will slow down dramatically to protect itself. I would be very surprised if you got 4.3Ghz on the stock cooler without...

i7-4790k overclocking with MSI z97s SLI Krait edition

Don't worry, it is fine. I suggest you try setting it to 4.5Ghz at 1.25V. Use hardware monitor to check that when the CPU is at 100% the CPU core temperature stays at or below 70°C I don't bother with stress testing very much, just see if the PC runs reliably for several hours gaming without...

Buy a Z170, keep what I have or get an even better CPU?

Your CPU turbo speed is 3.7Ghz on 4 cores. You can probably get it to turbo to 3.9GHz on all 4 cores by changing your BIOS settings. You could spend a lot of money getting a better motherboard and cooler, and plenty of time installing and configuring it, and still only get another 10% faster CPU...

AMD Turbo core not working and core per cu issue - FX8370e

I suggest you reset BIOS to default settings, then overclock to 4Ghz as you had before. You could spend a lot of time and effort and money to get the CPU to run ~10% faster. The difference when playing games would not be worth it. I mean, if you have a game unplayable at 15FPS, then you...

i7 4790k Always crashing when i try to overclock it.

I have 2 old PCs which I built from new about 7 years ago. Both AMD Phenom II x4, Identical motherboards, memory etc. I overclocked one of them to 4.06Ghz, which is very good, and the other overclocked to 3.5Ghz, which is very disappointing. I tried all the tricks, read the forums. No joy. Like...

    When will GPU prices drop?

They will drop as soon as the etherium prices suddenly crash.... probably in a few months time. You will then be able to buy a 2nd hand GPU really cheap

i7 4790k Always crashing when i try to overclock it.

Not all i7 4790K CPU will overclock to 4.5Ghz. Some overclock better than others. It is called the silicon lottery. But 4.3Ghz is only 4% slower. You will hardly notice the difference. Try getting a stable overclock at 4.3Ghz and 1.25 Vcore

I got this PC from a friend( for free lol) and is having some issues

On the subject of fan placement, airflow etc. Before spending any time changing anything, clean the dust off with a brush, then try gaming with the side of the case removed. This will help the PC run at a lower temperature. Check all the fans are spinning. If it still crashes, then your problem...

    Upgrade CPU to new one

i'm afraid a new computer is the only answer. My old PC is a desktop, so it is easy to upgrade to a newer GPU as required. Laptops graphics cannot be upgraded.

    Upgrade CPU to new one

No, you can't. They are not compatible But you can probably put a faster 3rd gen processor in it. For example an i7 should be about 40% quicker... Actually 7th Gen CPU is not a huge performance increase over a similar 3rd gen CPU. I am currently using a 2nd gen i7, and it is still very fast.

Do deleted files from HDD affect the SSD the OS runs off of?

It is simple. Your SSD is faster and more reliable and longer lived than your HDD. Standard practice is to put windows, all your programs and all your apps on the SSD 120Gb is often enough, 250Gb is plenty. Pics and video go on the HDD because they take up a lot of space, and the HDD is fast...

Do deleted files from HDD affect the SSD the OS runs off of?

I advise you to install all of your programs such as illustrator onto your default programs directory on your SSD. 250Gb is big enough for a huge number of programs. The SSD is the best place for them because the computer can access them really quickly, making your PC very responsive. Your...
