Can you install a heatsink and a cpu cooler or just one and what is the difference? Im a bit of a noob

I changed the motherboard and the cpu to : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/gigabyte-z170xp-sli-intel-core-i5-6600k-bundle-20-pounds-saving-bu-021-gi.html because that one did not support sli, would this one still work?
