I'm seeing a GTX 980 Ti for ~$500 after rebate deals popping up ... im really tempted to pull the trigger as I could use a 1440p 144hz video card right now ... BUT I dont want to blow money on something that will be obselete in a few months with polaris around the corner ... what should i do ?

Hi gang, I recently purchased that new Dell Inspiron 7000. Core specs: i5-6300HQ Quad Core, 8GB DDR3L, 256GB SSD, GTX 960M 4GB, 1080p IPS display. As a desktop gamer, I've gotten spoiled with crossfire r9 390 8gb .. and pretty much max everything at 1080p with 144 frames per second. Because...

And also, the reason for the two r9 390 is because it has 8gb and is more "dx12 ready" (from what I've heard) ... Basically, my goal is to be able to max my 144hz monitor at 1080p on new AAA titles for at least the next 1-2 years (hopefully).

I've built 3 or 4 computers over the last 15 years. I have below average intelligence, bad eye sight, and generally speaking, very bad at any handy work. With all that said, building a computer is a breeze. Just follow a well written guide that's posted here, or a youtube video, step by step.

With the H87 would I still be able to overclock the GPU .. or is that locked/impossible?

What are the major differences between an H87 and a Z87 -- and which one would compliment my custom build the best? I can get the H87 from Frys for $66, or the Z87 from Frys for $77.
