    i7 7800x vs i7 8700k

They will be very similiar.. Only difference that will probably affect gaming performance is the cache hierarchy.. the 7800x will Probably be 5% slower at most in some games at same clocks. But the difference is minimal. Go with whatever is cheapest, and if the 7800X is already delidded u...

New Gaming Rig (share your opinion)

Guessing from the dual 1080Ti's I assume your budget isn't tight. For 20-50 bucks more, you could go for a little faster RAM with low latency. Atleast 3600Mhz CL16. It should work directly out of the box with XMP on the Hero, and 100% works with the Maximus Apex. It could net you a few frames.

    i5-8600K or i7-7700K?

6 physical cores will always outperform 4 physical cores given the same architecture (more or less). If the prices are identical, 8600K is the optimal choice.

    5820k to 8700k

15% performance gain tops for 5-600 USD? No you definetely shouldn't. Unless money is of no issue, and you REALLY need the gaming performance.

How good is a 5960x these days?

There is a good X299 motherboard. It’s called Rampage VI Apex

    H110i with i7-7800x

Yes H110i will cool it just fine. It will even allow for a good overclock, probably to around 4.5-4.7 GHz. I would pair it with an ASUS X299-A, which is a nice baseline board with all basic features you need.

    Overclocking 7820X + New build

For overclocking, I would get a higher quality motherboard. X299 Raider is bottom of the entry level boards, so the componentry won't be of superior quality, and not the best choice for hard overclocking. My recommendation? Ditch one of the Mx300's, and spend the money on either the Rampage VI...

    $10K Gaming PC

Doesn't get better, everything is best in class. Literally. One could argue 7700K is a better gaming processor, but at 4K you will never ever be CPU bound, and with the 7700K only having 16 PCIE Lanes, it would simply not be enough for the SSD's and Titan SLI., so i just put the beefy 7900X...

    I9 7900x vs TR 1950x

The i9 will do a tiny bit better when gaming and streaming, because of the higher clockspeed and IPC compared to the 1950X. In almost all editing tasks, the 1950X will be faster though. Depends on what you prioritize higher. Both of these should have an appropriate AIO attached. 240mm or...

Why is MSI x299 sli plus taking so long to post

I'd update the BIOS to the newest version from MSI's website, and see if that helps first.

When will Intels i3 line get 4 cores?

Lower end i5's will have 4c/8t. I3 won't go higher than 4/4 for sure. That would cannibalize their higher end sales too much.

Impulse bought an i7 7700k (no choice). A couple of heat related questions.

The CPU will only get that hot under synthetic loads, that you will probably never see under normal use. So yes, it will defintetly be safe to run.

Upgrade from 980X to 6700K worth it?

1080Ti paired with a 980X?! Jesus, get yourself an upgrade. Coffee Lake is launching in august, and will bring 6 Core/12 Threads to mainstream, making it a super good fit for the 1080Ti. That's where i would strike. If you don't want to wait, 7700K is your best bet if you want the best gaming...

Intel's Future Chips: News, Rumours & Reviews

Cache per core and will be the same as kaby lake. And with single core boost to 4.7, you'll probably see alot of these processors hitting 5 GHz with proper cooling.
