New macbooks lookin worse and worse... I use my USB3 for everything now, would hate to be stuck back with usb2 or 1394b.

Sata HDDs can work on SAS controllers via a cable... SAS HDDs do not work on Sata controllers however. You will need a PCIe SAS Card. Its probably a great HDD tho, maybe like a velociraptor if your lucky.

Looks ok... striping via the onboard controller never gives peak raid performance but no harm done. however, I prefer a single velociraptor acheiving the same score, at the same size and the same price... while making less noise/heat/power consumption. Your score looks like many of my raptor...

Ummm, that isnt a Q6600 anymore once you deactivate half the cores. Its just a core 2 duo now, the real World Record needs to have cores 2 and 3 functioning... since they are less stable.

My Q9300 on Gigabyte X48 runs great at 3.4Ghz via the mobos "auto-voltages" and your chip can handle a little bit more than mine, so id say you are good to go. My temps and voltages are in the same ballpark as yours it seems.

Im using a X48-DQ6 board with the same ram (except mines 2x1GB)... and it works well and overclocks great. Unless the ram is actually bad, it is probably compatible.

Digital to analog is simple... but analog VGA to digital DVI ususally required a powerd converter. Something like this: http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=4341 I do tons of server03 installs, but always with a local VGA monitor attached... You have to take care of several things...

With the mods in my sig: PhysX helped me too... the drape in the first test seems more quick/realistic in its motion... i dont consider it cheating or whatever because it "inflated the cpu score" if I can get more realistic views and more points with a driver switch, without negatively...

Just start with one and see how it works for you... then you can upgrade again whenever. Im very glad i went to frys today... got my new BFG 9800GTX for $179! 4850... 9800... close price/close performance/both have small pros and cons.... JUST GET ONE AND ENJOY IT!

E5820 GPU: 6149 CPU: 5015 LAPTOP: Penryn @ 2.5Ghz, 8600m GT (OC), Vista I havent attempted any of the higher Vantage presets yet, Im sure it would lag pretty hard... I can play crysis (1280/medium) on it smoothly.

1. Buy GTX 280... (put it on ur credit card so u can start playing tonight!) 2. Wait a couple weeks... Re-Shrinkwrap... Return it to local reatailer. 3. Insert 4870 (after good deal from newegg im sure) and continue the enjoyment. :)
