Connected an old HDD to my second PC today. It's got Windows XP and I'm not used to it at all. I want to install Windows 7 64-bit from a USB drive. Will I need to backup some useful files or will it just overwrite the Windows files?

Going to buy Gigabyte GTX 770 OC 2GB but wondering if my Corsair CX500 is powerful enough to run it. The GTX770 manual says a minimum of 600W power supply is needed. Is that true?

Would an R9 270x Crossfired be better than a single GTX 770? The crossfire requires a better PSU and is costlier, would it be that much better?

I have a spare USB 3.0 external hard drive. Could it be used to install games and then play them because I don't really have much internal storage space. Would it mean slower loading times? Or would it be faster than SATA 2.0 hard drive?

Oh and I'm running a single monitor setup at 1080p and looking to play modern games at Ultra settings.

If I'm not planning to OC should I pay more for some other card. Plus the MSI Reference looks good :D. I also think it's factory overclocked.
