Whilst gaming temps never exceed 66c, I just find it odd that under water it will jump 20c just from opening up chrome. From what I understand it should be a gradual increase not a spike.

I have an I5-7600k on an ASUS Maximus Vlll Hero under a Corsair h110i. Just from opening up Chrome my temps spike up by 15-20c and immediately drops down. Is this normal?

PSU is just a few months old, and yes I have been watching the temps. PSU temp is around 63c, GPU 65 and Cpu 60 on average. The odd thing is seems to only be happening with one particular game.

Lately I have had my computer abruptly restart, as if I hit the restart button on the case myself. My question is this, could the chip set on the motherboard cause this to happen as a result of overheating?

When running Prime95, only 2 out of 8 cores say passed, the rest say nothing. When I stop the test, says that there were no warnings nor errors. Does this still mean that my cpu failed the stress test?

no bent pins on the CPU, yes the fans spin up, and I tried both dimms of ram individually in every slot, after the phone call with ASRock and what they told me it now looks like it is a faulty GPU or a compatibility issue between the gpu and the motherboard (said the tech at MSI)
