Thanks guys, was really tired last night, completely misread tea urchin's reply. never thought of using the 2.0 ports on my machine.

I currently have a bunch of western digital hard drives in my pc, a couple of em brand new....I don't see how getting a SSD over an HDD would solve the problem as the very same hard drives worked before the new mobo. P.S; Also I'm a bit curious, besides the connection type is there any...
