Oh so I probably need to find out if both routers would support a second concurrent VPN to each other and forget about the connection to the server?

Do what Zerk2012 said first and check the temps. What OS are you running? I've seen a PC that also did that and Windows 10 had to be reinstalled. No problems after that.

A heat gun would work the best. A hair dryer would also be a good bet. Heat it up and use a credit card or something to carefully work it off. Take your time doing this so you don't damage anything.

I've been able to on a variety of devices although it's not recommended because it could damage your device if there is a high electricity load. And if you do it then don't mix charging cables. Only use the original one.

I've had 3 computers do that to me last week. It happened after they got the anniversary update. I opened the device manager and right clicked each thing to check for updates. It's kind of tedious, but there were quite a few drivers that installed and the ram eventually dropped to regular usage...
