Well switching the ends of the SATA cable and using a different SATA port on the board temporarily fixed it during the boot sequence but then it went off again when I got back into windows. Got to assume it's the drive?

Yeah I meant unplugged and replugged them back in of course. I'll try swapping the SATA cable around and plugging it in a different SATA port.
