there will be a new conference from nvidia on January so wait for that at least before you buy. If you want to play these days I'd recommend buying an old used gpu, like the gtx 1050 or r9 380 to play some online titles until you buy a decent budget gpu after 5-6 months

My graphics card is AMD not Nvidia, however, I did try the alternate AMD fixes for everything you said. Also disabling windows game mode hardware acceleration is about the first thing I do when I install a new windows.

I do that every time I install a new driver

Additional note: I borrowed an RTX 2060 super from a friend and installed it in my PC, Tested it out, and it was working flawlessly.

I don't think any company will do anything to support a previous generation, greedy corporations want us to buy the new stuff.
