How could i move my OS to another drive on my PC?

You can do this kind of thing with a cloning software, like Acronis. However, for optimal use of the SSD, it is better to install Windows on it fresh. Do you have the installation media for the Windows? (if it is Windows 10, you can just download it, no disks needed). Install it on the SSD, use...

    windows 10 slow boot

Try to disconnect all possible peripherals (USB drives, even Internet connection), and see if boots normally. If it does - you've almost solved it! Add them back one by one, and see which one is the problem. Did this machine come with Windows 10? Or is this an upgrade?

How to Upgrade from Windows 8 to 10

I'd try the Media Creation tool option. You can download a Windows 10 installation, and put it on a USB stick. Then, run it on the machine as it is now (backup before, of course :). Here is a link to the tutorial: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install

Recommended C drive size for Windows 10

I would recommend not partitioning it at all. Haven't really seen the need for this, since we are long way away from the XP days where you would reinstall Windows every couple of month :)

Is there a way to retieve my programs from windows.old?

You can recover programs from Windows.old, but not manually. There is only one tool that I know of that can do this - here's a page about it: How to recover programs and files from Windows.old Hope this helps.

    Clean Install on an SSD

If you do have troubles with activation, you could also try and clone the old drive to the SSD, then reinstall Windows 10 "on top" of the faulty installation. This should definitely preserve the activation. But first - do a clean install as geofelt suggests.

How to transfer programs/applications to new pc?

You can, but you need a 3rd party product for this (as in, paid). You can't do it with just a copy to USB. Here's the tutorial that worked for me: How to transfer programs to new PC If it's worth it for you, the software itself is quite effective, and copies programs as well.

Upgrade from xp to windows 10

Is your Windows 8.1 retail or OEM? If it's OEM, you most likely cannot install it (or use the serial to activate) on any other machine. So this would not work.

    Restore back to XP

Use this tutorial - should allow you to do the roll-back without much effort: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/wiki/insider_wintp-insider_install/how-to-recover-a-previous-builds-or-your-original/76b6750c-5bb2-40bc-a7e3-f03cec62338b

    Is Windows 10 worth it?

Edge, for me, works faster than Chrome. I am still amazed they could get that to happen. Although, i do run it without any extensions, so it could be that, too.

2 Questions about installing Windows 10

If your disk looks full, you may have a "windows.old" folder on your C: drive. That folder is where Windows puts all of your old stuff (program files, data etc.). WARNING: If you delete it, you lose ALL of your old files and programs. However, if that is what you actually want, then you know...

    Your Experience with Windows 10

For me, it feels like a good, solid improvement on Windows 7. In some ways, MS are repairing the Win8 damage (Start Menu), but a lot of stuff is pretty nice. And, surprisingly, Cortana is actually useful!

How can I transfer programs from old hard drive (without computer) to my new computer

I came to this thread searching for the exact same problem. Was discouraged by the answers a bit ;) Then, found that there are (paid) tools that do actually do this - transfer not just files, but also programs directly from the drive. In my single, non-representative attempt it worked extremely...

Transfer files from old windows Vista 32bit pc to new windows 8.1 64bit pc

Easy Transfer is not really available in Windows 8.1. And in Windows 10, it outright doesn't exist. As mentioned previously in the thread, there are alternatives. I used Zinstall's "Easy Transfer for Windows 10", with success. They also have a more expensive one that transfers programs, not...
