I have an Asus Z170 pro

I've been going in circles haha. Swapped coolers... Reapplying paste.... Overall cleaning.... I've just on Amazon and bought an AMD setup, I can't be dealing with this stress lol. Especially in lock down, I need to be able to play games :)

I did go into the bios and manually set the voltage to 1.225 on a 4.2ghz? I think it may be the case that either the CPU or mothboard is about to die? What do you think?

Just had another look at the cooler, it looks perfect (especially after I've cleaned it) I can't see anything obvious around the joints? Also I did try my old 212 EVO air cooler and I was still getting the same crazy temps.

Thanks for getting back to me, the cooler is about 1.5/2 years old. I have spoken to Corsair and they advised to give the cooler a 'big shake' which I did but it didn't seem to do anything. I was starting to lean off the cooler being a factor as I thought as the CPU's idle temps were pretty...
