Sometimes mixing works, sometimes it doesn't, just depends on luck. Much better option would be to buy 2 sticks of 16gb RAM and sell the old kit, I saw amazon selling a corsair vengeance 2x16 3200mhz cl16 kit for £50, sell your old kit for £20 or so and its a cheap upgrade

Just an update and conclusion for this post I ended up trying that 3600mhz 32GB RAM kit on my B450M-A and it works fine at the rated speed, whether these motherboards can easily run RAM at that speed or if I just got lucky I definitely can recommend it
