how long are able to play? since it is not coming back temps too high whatever heated needs to cool down so powersuply maybe ok.check your heatsink of cpu if seated correctly?download hwmonitor check temperatures?

I am looking for a closed loop system with 2 heatsinks one for gpu and one for cpu? That thing will sell like chips. at the moment i have one closed loop H55 for 680gtx (using kraken g10) and h100i for cpu.

If it is a laptop came with win8 it is different. you need to fiddle with uefi and bios.

connect the drive in to any sata port between 7-10, i am not sure if all sata ports controlled by the chipset. maybe where you connected it is not controlled by chipset (maybe marvell or any other chip) and must be enabled in the bios but 7-10 is just for AHCI or IDE hdds no raids.

clean install! as you have a new pc ie new motherboard new components on motherboard so their drivers are different than what you have in your current OS.
