    It's not that cheap but I guess worth a try with the lame duck LG on my desk. I checked with Alexander Wong at Accell tech support whether this adapter is in fact their upcoming product but he denied it is. I'll post back on my findings shortly

    I first tried the naïve approach with a passive Moshi 4k DP to HDMI adapter from an AMD FirePro workstation to LG49UB820v but it does not work. I just found this active adapter which claims to do the job...
