There's nearly always value in a mid-life minor upgrade. My socket 939 3800+ single core greatly benefitted from going from a 7800 GT to a 9800GT. There is very little (admittedly I haven't yet played Crysis) that it can't run smoothly in a half way decent resolution at decent framerates...GTA...
