I'm curious if this ever got solved, Im having the exact same problem. It's also the same card. I'm running an Asus x79 Sabertooth with an i7, 16 gigs of ram and a 750 watt corsair psu.

Crap. It's a dvi not vga, I was mistaken. It's been awhile since I installed a new card.

I'm using the VGA. The same cable I was using for the old card. Also, I can hear the windows theme play after the screen goes black.
