No, A sound-card will make absolutely zero difference I think. Your speakers are simply not good enough to justify a soundcard. Get much better speakers first. agreed.

turn, Audyssey off, its much better to do it manually, and pls, turn off dynamic eq.... why on earth would you enable that????? ur cross over is way too damn low, no matter how extreme the front speakers are, even if they were 21inch woofed up party speakers.... 80hz to 70hz is just fine...

they are power hungry, yet they also have durable drivers, which was the main reason, that these speakers are used in most indoor venues... or just a PA system like in theme parks.

67 w/channel (4 Ohms at 3.85kHz) thats around 38.5 watts at 8ohms, if other variables were kept constant/ u would get ur speakers to about 103dB, thats at around max volume though. im not sure if thats very loud... considering musical peaks are usually 100db or more.

equalizing, always results in pushing the speaker over its natural response limit.

spdif is great for stereo however.

to the OP, your choice is buying a soundcard will depend on ur receiver specs.. now for one i dont think there is many recievers out there that have more then SNR ratio of 115dB for under 2000. buying the highest consumer soundcard out today can probably give you better quality. however only...

in spdif they willl output similar digital signals... and the quality would only be dependent on the final DAC. anyway M-audio and other proffesional card makes, like RME, lynx, yamaha, is only benficial if u want to record or use there inputs primiarily, since that is the area proffesional...
