    You comments are great even in the form of questions. I'd like to add a question relative to Upgrader3's question no1 - If I conclude in using the P3 connector should I disconnect the +5v, +3.3v rails and utilize only the +12VB rail?

    Hi there. If your not so keen on The vapor-x model go for Sapphire R9 280x Dual-X. Watch out for the part number though. Some come out with 2x8 pin connectors and some with 1x8 pin + 1x6 pin connector.
