In short, i want to replace the ODD with a 60GB SSD solely for sending my audio tracks to during recording and while editing WAV. files for less latency and faster write speeds. I care less for the read speeds at the moment. I need those write speeds faster than the 5,400 i have now.

Where in HWinfo can i find the speeds capable where my current OOD is placed? I can see that my current HDD is Samsung SATA II but i do not know if that is as high as the motherboard will take. Regardless, your saying that a SSD will benefit over a 7,200/10k rpm HDD on a SATA II?

I'm not asking it to do everything. I'm sorry. I mainly need it for DAW purposes and upgrades for gaming and video can come later. All I need for a DAW is a Quadcore or higher, 7,200 rpm HDD, and 16GB or RAM. Anything more would be over-kill for a DAW. I've not come close to breaking a sweat...

I benchmarked using a Reaper (DAW)monitoring CPU usage. i3 is sufficient but trails behind the AMD A6 APU by a good length. The i5 and A6 are about match. All depends on what software host your using.

I have no clue about AMD vs Intel in gaming but i do know from experience where AMD's new APU pulls through on task way better than Intel i3 and i5.
