So whenever I download a game through steam/origin/uplay with 20-35MB/s or a torrent through qbittorent at high speed I can't use anything that requires an internet connection anymore .. can't access google due to "This site can't be reached / dns_probe_finished_bad_config" or steam store or...

Play the game on lowest settings just to test. Are you using process lasso by any chance?

so after further testing it wasn't the GPU (thank god the courier company didn't accept the GPU to ship it to warranty because I needed to secure it better with foam or other protective stuff) .. it is the RAM. I pulled out the old 16GB and kept only the new 16GB. The BSOD has stopped for now ...

well i guess it's the GPU after all ... I've been staying on the integrated gpu all day and no bsod

I really hope it's not the GPU since I'm not gonna be able to afford anything else right now and I have no way to test it in another PC. The one that had something to do with web pages - before 2 bsod's I was browsing chrome and some random tabs i had open went offline like i had no internet...

which bios update is available? 1801 is the one i have which is the latest according to the website .. for now i went with an even older driver ( 387.92 ) and disabled XMP

what i did now is used DDU and reverted all the way back to 391.35 driver .. so far I've been playing rust with no bsod

both drives are on the latest firmware + chkdsk shows no error. also ran windows memory diagnostic to be sure the RAM is ok and no errors were detected during that or during stress testing with aida64

i should mention that the bsod's are much more frequent when playing demanding games such as ac odyssey , dayz , rust

yes the bsod started happening in december when the hdd was still attached (fewer though) but throughout january and these first 2 days of feb there's been tons of bsod

I went to https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-X-HERO/HelpDesk_Download/ and downloaded & updated the following : bios , chipset , LAN , SATA

500gb 970 evo (as C: drive) + 500gb crucial ssd + 1tb hdd but i've disconnected it for now because the noise it was making was annoying me also a 620w seasonic bronze psu
