Minimum processor state keeps reverting to 100%

I might have found a solution, ASUS Smart Gesture being the culprit. Smart Gesture (from http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/lower-zenbook-power-consumption-due-to-asus-smart-gesture.741039): Solution (from...

Minimum processor state keeps reverting to 100%

What info about the machine would you need, like specs? I actually went ahead and ran the dump file through WhoCrashed, some analyzing software, and it's telling me this: *** On Mon 4/16/2018 2:36:26 AM your computer crashed or a problem was reported crash dump file...

Minimum processor state keeps reverting to 100%

I probably don't have the latest BIOS since I've never updated it. Should I, in this case? Anyways, thanks for the dump tip - here's an automatic memory dump that Windows created after a BSOD some time ago, not a minidump, but maybe that'll work as well: https://goo.gl/fSy4R6.

Minimum processor state keeps reverting to 100%

Yes USB Charger+ is for quick charging although I'm not sure if it works too well That doesn't make sense though, if Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework adjusts the power/temperature/fan limits, why would it make the CPU work on 100% all the time?

Minimum processor state keeps reverting to 100%

Hi all, I've experienced quite a few BSODs on my laptop during the last weeks, all of them with the same error message: "faulty hardware corrupted page." I did not know why that was happening but supposedly it can be due to unstable overclocking and/or overheating of components. Anyway, I...

USB 3.0 speed drops when transferring files

Thanks for the solutions, everybody. As pointed out, those "USB 3.0 ports" I thought my PC had, were in fact only USB 2.0, only the PC case had it labeled like SuperSpeed ports.

USB 3.0 speed drops when transferring files

Thanks for the tips. How do I update my USB 3.0 drivers, though? I used the Live Update utility from MSI (my MB manufacturer) and also the Intel Update Utility, but neither of those said that USB drivers needed updating. I could do it manually, if I knew where to download from. Here's what...

USB 3.0 speed drops when transferring files

Even if those burst speeds are common, I'd expect the speed not to drop below, say, 40-60 MB/s. After all, it's not USB 2.0. Anyway, I have Windows set to automatically defragment my drive (currently says 0 % fragmented). Ran a scan with Avira, all clean. I tried copying the same file from a...

USB 3.0 speed drops when transferring files

Hi all! When copying large files from my Win 8 computer to an external hard drive, the transfer speed is initially very high (>100 MB/s), but after a short while drops to 20-30 MB/s. Note that the external drive is connected to the PC's USB 3.0 port using a USB 3.0 cable. I do have write...

    Cannot uninstall ASUS Screen Saver

Hi all, I recently bought an Asus laptop, which (unsurprisingly) came with some bloatware pre-installed. One of those programs is Asus Screen Saver, which I have been unable to uninstall, as it required a password to do so. Is there a way to uninstall the program without the password, or should...

    Which RAM to buy?

Hi, I'd like to upgrade my RAM to 8 GB. My current memory is Kingston ValueRAM 4 GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz. My question is, should I just add another 2x2GB kit with the same specs (1333Mhz, CL9 etc) so that I have 4x2GB or would I be better off replacing my current kit with a 2x4GB kit? The...
