    If your wanting to use PC based applications then your pretty much stuck with either XP, 7 or 8. If you want to try the Linux I would grab Ubuntu and Steam for Linux. There isn't as many games in there but might be a nice change of scenery for you ;)

    No perceivable difference. Only real benefit to 64 bit is ability to have over 4GB of memory on a computer. There are also some lesser known security features in 64bit like Kernel Patch Guard.
